2017 HMAG Educational Scholarship Winner Announced

Congratulations Audrey Crowson!

Winner of the 2017 HMAG Educational Scholarship

Audrey’s proposal for the HMAG Educational Scholarship Grant is to:

“Pursue educational opportunity toward developing expertise in the art and craft of metal. Grant funds will be used to pay for professional metals- and jewelry-related classes. Practical experience in a classroom environment will provide focused instruction in advanced technique, opportunity to improve proficiency, and access to creative collaboration. I tend to repeat the things I know how to do; sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas with fellow students, along with concentrated learning and guided instruction from professional artists, empowers me to venture beyond the boundaries of self-learning.

•HCC – Metal Arts
Focused instruction on specific areas of interest

• Glassell School of Art
Explore design and color to incorporate dimension and complexity into metal work

• San Jacinto College
Resume and examples of my work are included.”

Congratulations to Audrey,
and a big thank you to ALL who applied for the scholarship!
This was not an easy decision to make.

We look forward to Audrey making a presentation to HMAG in 2018 to show how her metalsmithing skills have been advanced by this scholarship.
