Workshop: Sondra Sherman at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

HMAG has partnered with Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and the Glassell School of Art to have  Sondra Sherman lead a workshop entitled “Intent, Chance and Happenstance.”   Sherman, whose work is featured through May 8, 2016 in the Craft Center’s exhibit,  Found Subjects: Works by Sondra Sherman, creates unique brooches and necklaces prompted by the individual books she has collected over many years.

The workshop, consisting of exercises in paper and non-technical things,  will be held April 23, 2016; 10am-2:30pm at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.  Please feel free to bring your lunch.  It is free and open only to Glassell School students and HMAG members.  Non-members may pay a $30 fee to attend.

Although there is no charge for this workshop, HMAG requires that members register online for a space.  Registration opens April 1, 2016.

Following the workshop, Sondra will give a lecture at 3:30pm, also at HCCC.  The lecture is free and open to the public.

This workshop sounds like a lot of fun! How many seats are available?

So far, the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft has merely limited the seats to HMAG members and Glassell Students. They have not stated a firm number.
