Metalsmith extraordinaire Sue Amendolara is coming to HMAG all the way from Edinboro, Pennsylvania just to hang out with us and teach us some totally cool techniques! Don’t miss this chance to learn from one of the best in the business.

Sue Amendolara will be teaching the Kuem-Boo and Hydrolic Press Die-Forming Workshop, and will also be giving an Artist Lecture and presentation of her work and artistic journey! For those who aren’t able to attend the workshop, her talk will be a great opportunity to get to know her and get an insider’s look at those techniques! Don’t pass it up!

Hydraulic Press Die-Forming is a method of forming smooth, embossed shapes in metal.  During this hands-on two-day workshop, students will learn the basics of the hydraulic press die-forming process for jewelers and metalsmiths, exploring various ways to alter the metal and the dies.  Keum-Boo, an ancient Korean technique of fusing gold foil to the surface of sterling silver, will also be shown.  Students can complete simple pieces of jewelry during this workshop.

When:  Sat and Sun, Feb 22 and 23, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where:  San Jacinto College South Campus

Cost:  $300 – includes materials and lunch both days

Registration begins on December 1, 2013 and ends when the workshop is full (15 students max).  A waitlist will be maintained once the class is full.

HMAG Workshop Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your registration more than 7 days prior to the start of the workshop, your registration fee, minus a $50 cancellation fee, will be refunded by check or PayPal.

No refunds will be given for cancellation within 7 days of the start of a workshop.
